Part 1: Face-to-face approximately eight (8) hours theoretical training and assessment.
An open book written assessment focusing on the participant’s ability to read and interpret the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices Part 3 (MUTCD). Participants must complete all of the activities within the participant activity/assessment booklet and a minimum of two simulated in-class setups. These activities and assessments are to be completed throughout the course on the day as a formative assessment process.
Upon successful completion of the eight (8) hour training course, participants will be issued with a “Statement of Attendance”.
Part 2: Practical Assessment on live job-sites – To be completed after the eight (8) hour training session and is conducted on day 2 with our traffic controllers.
Participants are required to produce documented evidence of 3 separate signage setups of varying complexity on live job-sites. For example: detour, shoulder work, merge lane closure, contra-flow (part road closure), frequently changing work site, mobile works etc.) One of these setups must include controlling site construction vehicles.
